Brimmer Street - Underpinning Project

This large 1900's Federal located on the flat of Beacon Hill was in dire need of a full renovation. The building was gutted and like many of the buildings in Boston this was set a top wood piles that were rotted. The building was sinking and was in need of "underpinning". A large scale project took place which included excavating (by hand) under the foundation the expose the rotted piles. One by one the piles were removed and replaced using steel beams.
